The Watson College Advising Office, located on the second floor of the Engineering Building, provides basic advising services for students. No question or concern is unimportant, and seeking accurate information is a valuable part of your academic experience.

The Department for Student Transition and Success supports students' academic, personal and professional development as they transition through their Binghamton collegiate experience. Peer and professional success coaches support student learning through personalized one-on-one coaching appointments, workshops and access to virtual resources. They are trained to identify potential barriers to academic success and collaboratively construct a tailored success plan for each student.

University Tutorial Services offers FREE tutoring sessions to Binghamton University undergraduate students. Peer tutors work with students in small groups to help practice and better understand course content. Tutoring sessions are by appointment only. Detailed directions on how to schedule an appointment can be found on our website.

Each of our on-campus communities has a collegiate professor or faculty-in-residence who can help students navigate the complexities of college and life by connecting them to resources, programs, mentors and opportunities across campus. Each has in-person office hours in their communities:

The Writing Center provides free tutoring in college writing for all students. Tutors are available Monday–Friday while classes are in session to assist you with any assignment from any class — essays, arguments, research papers, reports, analyses, editorials, proposals, abstracts and lab reports; with critical reading; developing presentations; and citing sources.

Tutors are here to help every student from every college and school — native speakers and ELL, undergrads and grad students — to become better writers.

General Chemistry office hours are in-person in S2-126 and on Zoom (see schedule for details). Upper level Chemistry office hours are by Zoom.

Please Note: The teaching assistants (TAs), do not have control over your grades and they are not responsible for your homework and assignments — you are. The TAs will try to help you as much as they can, but they will not give you the answers or do your homework for you. They are here to help you understand the concepts. So, please, attempt each problem before asking for help and have your book and lab manual with you. TAs will help you as you raise your hand. On busy days, be patient.
