This program links 911 dispatchers with the local off-campus Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP). Trained dispatchers can assess the level of risk to the caller and transfer qualified callers linking them directly with mental health assistance, putting the consumer first, avoiding a police response and avoiding unnecessary transports to the hospital. Part of the team can make face-to-face visits to assess risk. This is a confidential resource.
